These Terms of Service form the rental agreement between you, the client, and DISGUISED RENTALS LLC, the company that operates the DisguisedRentals costume and prop service from its studio at 43 W 225 N, Lindon - 84042-2096, United States (US). Please read this document carefully because every reservation you make, every deposit you pay, and every trunk you carry out of our backstage is governed by its conditions. By booking a fitting, paying a deposit, collecting a costume, or otherwise using our services, you confirm that you agree to these terms and form a binding rental contract with us on the day set out below. The developer behind the DisguisedRentals website and its reservation process is DISGUISED RENTALS LLC, and that same company owns the terms you are about to read.

Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service are a contract. When you use the DisguisedRentals website, telephone our desk, complete a reservation note, or appear in person at our studio to collect a rental, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, we kindly ask that you not reserve a costume and instead contact us so that we may discuss your concerns before you commit to anything.
We may update these terms from time to time, and we will note the latest date near the top of this page. Any rental that begins after an update will be governed by the version then shown. Because single-event reservations are usually short and clearly out and back, the version in force on the day you book will apply to that whole engagement unless a later change is expressly required by law. A continued relationship with us after an update reads as acceptance of the newer terms for future bookings.
Who May Rent and Eligibility
Costumes, masks, wigs, and props may be rented only by a person who is at least eighteen years of age or by a parent or guardian acting on behalf of a group that includes younger performers. We reserve the right to ask for a valid identity document and a method of contact before we release any trunk. The person who signs the rental sheet is the responsible client throughout the rental and remains answerable for every piece listed on that sheet even if another member of the party wears the costume.
We may decline a reservation at our honest discretion where we judge that a requested garment is not appropriate for the stated event or where the time required for alterations cannot be met. Niche or very fragile vintage pieces may require an additional care briefing before they leave our shelves. Should we decline an already paid reservation for a reason on our side, we will offer a full refund of the deposit rather than a credit unless you prefer otherwise.
Reservations and Availability
A costume is reserved only once we confirm it in writing, whether by email to your address, a note through the reservation desk, or a signed sheet at the counter. Until a confirmation reaches you, a garment remains open to other clients, and our earlier conversation about a hopeful set does not by itself hold the rail. We encourage clients to book well ahead for gala weekends and major theatre seasons, because the most requested gowns, cloaks, and masks are limited to one borrower at a time.
When you reserve a set, our dressers will set it aside on a held rail and mark your name on the hanger tag. If any piece in your confirmed set becomes unavailable through an earlier client returning it late, we will do everything sensible to substitute an equal or better piece, and we will tell you about the change before the event. Where no suitable substitution exists, you may cancel that item for a proportional refund.
Deposits, Payments, and Pricing
Each reservation requires a holding deposit that we apply toward the final rental fee. The deposit amount depends on the value of the trunk and is quoted to you before you confirm. We accept payment by card at our in-store terminal, by bank transfer, and in some cases with a cleared cheque before pickup. Full card numbers are handled by our payment processor, and our own records show only a receipt reference plus the last digits of the card.
The rental fee shown at booking covers the agreed period, the included fitting, and normal pressing and brushing upon return. It does not cover unusual cleaning that becomes necessary because of heavy soiling, any repair for actual damage, or a complete loss of a garment. All prices are stated in U.S. dollars. If a tax applies to your booking we will add it clearly, and we will never add a hidden charge after an event without first explaining it in plain words.
Fittings and Alterations
Most costumes benefit from a trial fitting, and our Lindon studio includes this in the booking so that your garment sits well on the evening. During a fitting a dresser will take your shoulder width, waist, and length references using the measuring tape at the station, and may record small notes on a reusable dresser card. We keep those notes only for the purpose of readying your own rental and store them with the care described in our Privacy Policy.
Small alterations such as a hem tack, a waist pull, or a strap shorten are included in the rental when the work is simple. Deep alterations that reshape a gown to a one-off silhouette are charged separately and will only be done on pieces we own and you rent, never on items you bring from elsewhere without a separate written agreement. We recommend leaving at least a week between a fitting and your collection so that any work we promise is finished calmly.
Rental Period and Return Dates
Every rental sheet states a collection time and a return time, and both matter. A typical booking runs from a morning collection to a noon return the next day, which comfortably covers a single evening event. Longer tables for galas, conventions, or film days can be arranged for a proportional fee. The return time is written on your label, and our counter keeps to it so that the next reserved client is not left waiting for a gown that stays out too long.
If you foresee arriving later than your return time, please call us ahead so we can check whether the trunk is due out again. A short, communicated overrun is far easier for us to forgive than a silent delay. Where an item is returned after its time without our agreement, late charges accrue at the rate noted on the rental sheet for each day or part of a day that the piece remains out of the studio.
Care of Costumes and Props
We ask clients to wear and handle our wardrobe with the same warm care they would give a favourite garment. Keep food and drink away from the front of a cloak or gown, avoid sitting on a feathered hem, and do not pull at delicate sequins or ribbons. Wigs, hats, and masks should be carried in the protection we provide rather than crushed into a pocket or a bag with keys.
If a small spill or a snag happens during the event, please simply tell us at the counter rather than attempting to fix it yourself. Our pressing and steam room has the right brushes, irons, and cleaning methods for velvet, silk, and feathers, and an untrained wash can turn a minor mark into a permanent one. The following section explains how cleaning and any charges are decided.
Damage, Loss, and Cleaning Charges
You are responsible for the pieces of any trunk you sign for from the moment you receive them until the moment they are checked back at our counter. Normal wear from a single graceful evening is expected and is part of the rental fee. Actual damage, including large tears, permanent stains, lost buttons, broken zips, melted sequins, or a feathered article soaked in a way that ruins it, is chargeable at our honest repair or replacement cost.
A routine cleaning after a normal wear is included. Unusual cleaning, such as removing a serious stain from a cream cape or an animal smell from a velvet boot, is charged at our cost. Any piece not returned at all is billed at its full replacement value as marked on your sheet. We will always describe the basis of a charge before we apply it to a held deposit, and we will return the remaining part of your deposit once the trunk is cleared.
Pickup and Delivery
Most clients collect their rental in person from our studio, which lets a dresser do a final check while you are there and answer any last question. Please bring the confirmation shown and allow a relaxed ten to fifteen minutes at the counter so that nothing is rushed. Collection at the stated time matters because costumes that leave on the agreed day reserve cleanly for their return.
We also offer delivery and white-glove dressing for galas and film jobs in the surrounding region. A delivery window, the venue address, and the person who will receive the trunks are agreed before the courier sets out. Delivery does not change your responsibility for the garments once they arrive; you remain the client of record for every piece until the trunks are collected back at the promised time.
Rescheduling and Exchange Policy
If your event shifts to a near date, please tell us as soon as you can so that we may try to hold the costume across the move. Where the new date is still free and the garment has not been promised elsewhere, we are glad to rebook your reservation without a fee. Should the new date fall on a night the gown is already spoken for, we will offer a fair substitute or a refund as you prefer.
You may exchange an un-taken reservation for a different costume once, free of charge, so long as the swap happens before collection and before we begin any alterations to the original. Once a garment has been fitted and released for your event, it cannot be exchanged for value. Requests to swap a returnable item the very day of an event are dealt with at the counter with goodwill wherever the rail allows.
Refunds, Cancellations, and Credit
If you cancel a reservation before we begin alterations and well before the garment would have been set aside ready, we refund your deposit in full. Once we have reserved a trunk to you and declined other clients for the same date, a cancellation reduces our opening on a busy evening, so a cancellation near the event is subject to the note on your sheet, usually a modest holding fee that reflects the lost booking.
We offer an encore credit more readily than a contested refund when a costume is returned cleanly and on time, because such a client is usually a pleasure to host again. Any refund due to you will be returned by the same method you paid, or by bank transfer where that is easier. We process refunds promptly and will confirm the amount in writing. If we cancel a confirmed reservation for a reason fully on our side, you receive a complete refund and our apology.
Credit Limits, Holds, and Fitting Rules
For very valuable trunks we may place a temporary hold or request a kept-on-file method of contact that we can reach if a garment returns late or damaged. This hold does not draw funds unless an agreed charge arises. We release any hold within a short window after the trunk is checked back and cleared. Our desk will always explain exactly what is held and when it is released before you leave.
A single client may rent a reasonable number of pieces for one party, but very large cast orders are scheduled through our group desk so that rails, changes, and shoes stay organised. We ask that fitting and pickups be conducted by the confirmed client or their named guest of age, because the person who signed for the trunk must be the one we can reach with a last-minute question.
Acceptable Use of Our Website
The DisguisedRentals website exists so that you can learn about our wardrobe, check availability, and arrange a rental. You agree to use it honestly and lawfully. Do not attempt to break into the studio systems, to scrape the pages in a way that burdens the server, to submit a false reservation under another person name, or to misuse any email form in a way that harasses our team.
Any quotes, notes, or booking messages you send should be accurate and kept current. A wrong return date or a mistaken size on your side can delay your own event, and while we do our best to double check everything, we rely on you for the honest facts of your booking. We may refuse service or close an account that is used to abuse, defame, or inconvenience others or to attempt to harm the service.
Intellectual Property and Ownership
The DisguisedRentals name, the brand, the written content of this website, the look and feel of the pages, the designs of any original garment patterns we have made, and the organisation of our catalogue belong to the company and its rightful owners. Nothing you do on the site gives you a right to copy, resell, or redistribute our text, images, or original designs for your own profit without written permission.
The garments and props we rent to you remain our property through the whole of the rental, and we lend them to you only for the agreed private or performing use. You may not resell, lend onward, photograph for commercial sale, or otherwise dispose of a rented piece. When you finish, the garment comes home to our rail, ready for its next grand entrance.
Disclaimers and Awareness of Fit
We take great care to keep our wardrobes clean, functional, and lovely, and we prepare every trunk so that it leaves our studio in a condition we would be happy to wear ourselves. We rely on your side too: costume sizing is not the same as standard garment sizing, so we strongly encourage a fitting whenever one is offered. Our size stamps are a guide on a theatrical swing, not a fixed promise of a perfect ready-to-wear fit.
We review antique and dramatic pieces for obvious weaknesses, yet fine silk, feathers, and lace are delicate by nature and can be damaged by rough, wet, or smoky surroundings beyond our sight before an event begins. And our website is provided as it stands, without a promise beyond the standards already described here. Between fittings we will not hide a known durability issue from you, but we cannot foresee every moment of an evening on the dance floor.
Limits on Our Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, DISGUISED RENTALS LLC is not liable to you for indirect or special loss that flows from a rental, such as lost earnings, lost enjoyment of an event, or the cost of renting a replacement on the same night, beyond the amount of the fee and deposit you paid for that booking. Our responsibility is to hand you a clean, workable costume and to stand by the promises in the sections above.
This limit does not apply where the law would not permit us to limit liability, including cases of deliberate harm on our part or where a claim for bodily injury cannot be excluded by a written clause. Nothing in these terms removes a right that the consumer law of your state guarantees you and that cannot legally be waived. Where a part of this limit is unenforceable, the remainder stays in force as far as it can.
Permitted Use and Responsibilities of Client
You agree to wear and use every rented piece solely for the private, celebratory, or performing purpose named on your reservation, and not for any illegal activity or any use that would endanger you, other people, or the garment. You agree to supervise the costumes in your care sensibly and to keep them in the protection provided when they are not being worn. Where children or large groups wear pieces, the responsible client keeps order so that nothing is torn in a rush.
You agree to return every listed piece, in the correct bag or box, at the agreed time, and to tell us honestly at the counter if anything is missing or hurt. You agree to treat our team, our other clients, and our stock with courtesy. We trust our clients because most of them return gowns with care, and we ask each person to hold that trust lightly and brightly.
Indemnification by the Client
You agree to hold DISGUISED RENTALS LLC harmless for losses that arise directly from your misuse of a rented piece or from a breach of these terms by you. Concretely, you are answerable for the repair or replacement cost of a garment you damage, lose, or soak beyond cleaning, as already described under damage and cleaning, rather than leaving that cost with the studio.
You also agree to answer for any claim that comes about because you used a costume in a way we plainly warned against, such as bringing an open flame near a feathered piece or repainting a hired mask to a new design without permission. This section does not require you to answer for a loss that our own fault or our staff conduct caused, because that is neither fair nor what we intend.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Utah and the federal laws of the United States that apply there, without regard to choice of law rules. Every rental we make is arranged from our studio in Utah, and so it is sensible and predictable for any disagreement to be settled under Utah law. You consent to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of the courts of Utah County for any matter that arises from a rental.
Before any formal step we warmly prefer to talk a problem through, because a wrongly fitted sleeve or a snapped sequin is usually settled with a kind conversation and a fair adjustment. Should we still disagree, we agree to resolve the matter in the state or federal courts sitting in Utah County, and each of us accepts the cost of bringing our own case even if one side prevails against the other.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms of Service occasionally to reflect how our studio works, a new rental program, protection of our stock, or a requirement of the law. When we make a change that meaningfully affects you, we will update the date near the top of this page and, for a material change, take reasonable steps to let our returning clients know before the next booking begins.
Your continued use of the service or the making of a fresh reservation after a change means that you accept the newer terms for that later booking. Pre-existing bookings stay under the version that was in force when you reserved them. If you would prefer not to continue under a revised version at all, you may simply not make a new reservation, and any existing one will still be honoured under its original terms.
Contacting Us
Questions, concerns, or a wish to talk over a rental before you book are always welcome at DISGUISED RENTALS LLC. You may reach us by email at serve@disguisedrentals.hair or by telephone at +19342848308, or visit us in person at our studio at 43 W 225 N, Lindon - 84042-2096, United States (US).
Every member of our backstage team would rather adjust a plan in good time than see a single gown go out in a way that could disappoint. If anything in these terms is unclear, ask us before you book and we will explain it in the same plain words used here. Thank you for reading, and welcome to the DisguisedRentals wardrobe.
